What Is Avatar: Seven Havens About?

Avatar: Seven Havens follows Pavi, a young Earthbender who becomes the new Avatar after Korra. Her world has been devastated by a cataclysm, and the people left behind see the Avatar as a danger. Alongside her long-lost twin, Nisha, Pavi searches for answers about their past while trying to protect the remaining havens of civilization.
The original 2D animated series comes from Avatar: The Last Airbender creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko. Book 1 premiered on Paramount+ on October 9, 2026.
A new Avatar in a changed world
Pavi's abilities do not give her an easy place in society. The official premise establishes a world where the Avatar is blamed for destruction, leaving the new Avatar exposed to enemies among both humans and spirits.
That creates two connected problems for Pavi. She must understand what being the Avatar means for her, and she must survive the way other people respond to that identity. The adventure begins with uncertainty about both the world's history and her own.
The premise describes how the Avatar is perceived. It does not, by itself, explain what actually caused the catastrophe. The Korra guide looks more closely at that distinction.
What are the Seven Havens?
The Seven Havens are the surviving strongholds of civilization after the cataclysm, as described in the Paramount+ overview. They are the places Pavi and Nisha are trying to protect, which makes the title refer directly to the stakes of their journey.
Why are Pavi and Nisha important?
Pavi is the central young Earthbender named in the series premise. Nisha is her long-lost twin. Their reunion connects the larger task of protecting the Seven Havens to a personal question: what happened to their family and their shared past?

How is the series organized?
The original announcement ordered 26 episodes across Book 1 and Book 2, with 13 half-hour episodes in each. Half-hour describes the program format; it should not be read as an exact runtime for every episode.
